Hosting

Finding the right web hosting company is the first important business relationship for a website owner. How your chosen web host will look after the server which hosts your site, will reflect on you as the owner of the site. If the site is often unavailable due to unreliable servers, poor server configuration or more traffic than the server can handle, then this will give the impression that you are someone who doesn't really know what they are doing.

If your web site is a business site, not being able to view the website can cause a revenue loss. Personal and hobby sites could also loose revenue during the time the site is unavailable. Even sites that are not for profit can get a bad reputation if the site is unavailable or slow to use.

Potential loss of revenue is just one of the reasons for wanting to choose a good host. A problem with the host will affect the other services connected with the domain. Services such as email and FTP could also be affected, and checking emails may become difficult. Another problem is that messages could get sent back to the sender and your visitors could come to the conclusion that the site no longer exists.

ProsperO offer’s two kinds of hosting:

Dedicated Web Hosting

Dedicated hosting is a good option for someone who wants more storage and bandwidth and control over the server. The advantages of having dedicated hosting are: unlimited databases and email addresses as well as unlimited bandwidth. Generally, a dedicated server plan offers the user with a monthly bandwidth usage contract. Also important to know that there are two types of dedicated web hosting plans: managed and unmanaged. Managed hosting is hosting that is still controlled by the hosting company. In unmanaged dedicated web hosting, the user is the server administrator, permitting the user the greatest amount of control and flexibility. Unfortunately, unmanaged hosting is complicated and takes more time than a managed hosting solution. This is a quick summary of the plethora of web hosting companies. Yes, we admit, it is a daunting task to find the best web hosting service for your needs. First know that the function of the website usually determines the type of web host. Then, the features, support, reliability, and control decides on the pricing of a hosting account. At web hosting search, you can browse the site and learn more about hosting, buy a hosting plan, and get your website online.

Shared Web Hosting

Shared hosting is the most popular and basic web hosting plan. Shared web site hosting permits in order for more than one site to be hosted on the same server. Here, the web hosts provide the system administration and the server maintenance. Benefits of a shared hosting site are programming features such as ASP, PHP, MySQL, large bandwidth, and multiple e-mail address capability. Compared to free web hosting, shared web hosting allows a user to have their own domain name. Shared hosting is a way for a hosting company to offer affordable web hosting to their clients while having more users on one server and thus less overhead costs.

Backup and database facilities

Another key thing to remember is that backup of the website and database is not always included in your contract, ant it is important to make sure that if you have backups, how frequently they are done and for how long they are stored.

We offer backup services in various forms, thus making sure that the options are explained to you when hosting with us.

How we charge for hosting:

Our clients gets to choose one of two options:

Option 1:

This is where we charge a flat rate for bandwidth used with a minimum of R99 per month or 500MB. The client will then pay an additional amount for every MB they go over the package selected. The packages availible start from 500MB at R99 and goes up to any size you might need, however this option is for users with low traffic, and we would reccomend that clients who expect high traffic volumes make use of Option 2 below.

Option 2:

This is where we charge a set fee for server support, firewall, backups, remote access and monitoring. The bandwidth on the server is then charged at a reduced rate. If the site is doing a lot of traffic this option will work out more economically.
