Over the years we have build up quite a large amount of experience in the tourism industry. We decided in 2009 to start a focused department to concentrate on building a central database housing tourist attractions, accommodations and destination information. We then expanded the database to accommodate for product owners to load their packages to the central database, and users can now also book cars and flights through the system. Making our system the first system in South Africa to offer, car, flight, hotel, B&B, and packages all bookable in real-time.
We could not have done this without our partner RTTC who have provided the back-end integrations into the GDS’s and other systems. The two companies really fit together perfectly as RTTC specialise in the back-end integrations and ProsperO specialise in databases, front-end development and digital marketing.
What makes this product offering so unique is that our solution also offers the fulfillment of bookings, through another partner called The Holiday Factory. This means that we have a call centre to assist travellers with changing tickets, and any other questions they might have. They also issue the tickets and confirm bookings.
We have put together a solution between all the parties which is literally a turnkey solution to any potential client, and thus it comes as no surprise that we have signed up some large corporate and provincial clients.
For the product owner, the system do have some requirements for it to be bookable in real-time, but depending on the channel,being the clients we have signed up, they might want to display enquiry based accommodations and not only real-time bookable ones. We can pretty much customise the client’s front-end to only display what they wish to sell.
The system even caters other travel entities that have packages which they would like to sell, and we have various commercial options available for them.

- As it is a central database from where the products are pulled, any change to a product will automatically update throughout all the channels.
- The front-ends can be customised to only display what the client wishes it to display, and it allows for custom pages which can be updated and maintained by the client.

- We have a dedicated content team to update content on the products and destinations regularly.
- We have 2 development teams working on new features, and other integrations daily, which means that the system is constantly evolving and new products are pulled in on a continuous basis.
